A. EVENT LOGISTICS
  1. When will the Kuching Youth Speak Forum 2016 be held?
    The Kuching Youth Speak Forum will be held on the 14th of May 2016.
     
  2. Where will the Kuching Youth Speak Forum 2016 be held?
    The Kuching Youth Speak Forum 2016 will be held in the Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak.

  3. Is transport provided? 
    Transport is not provided. However, for all UNIMAS students, we do provide shuttle buses from UNIMAS to Swinburne, completely free of charge!
     
  4. What if I am from outside of UNIMAS and I REALLY REALLY want to go?
    We admire your enthusiasm! If you would love to come but face problems in transportation, do let us know! Contact us on our facebook page or look for us in the Contact Us section.
     
B. EVENT TICKET
  1. How do I purchase tickets for Kuching Youth Speak Forum 2016 tickets?
    Tickets can be purchased via two platforms : a) Podio form  b) Peatix
    • Podio (Manual Payment) - A podio from can be found here - http://bit.ly/20Dw9va , then manual payment can be made to a bank account which will be emailed to you.

      Tickets are priced at RM20 before 1st of May 2016. Thereonafter, it will be priced at RM25.
      There will also be tickets sold on event day to our walk - in participants. The price will be RM25.
  2. What do I get for the ticket price paid?
    You would be given access to workshops and a chance to see and learn from people who actively partake in local impactful projects. lunch and tea will also be provided. We are also working to provide our delegates with goodie bags to increase the value of your ticket.
     
  3. What if I buy in large amounts, will I get a discount?
    The cost incuured in the ticket is only enough to cover our basic costs, and therefore we only provide discount to bulk purchases under special circumstances after a consideration of the organizing committee.
     
C. EVENT DAY REGISTRATION 
  1. What time will event registration begin?
    Registration will begin from 830am onwards. Even when our event is at 9am. There is going to be a large crowd, and therefore, it is encouraged that our participants come earlier so that registration can be conducted smoothly.

     
  2. What happens at registration?
    Your attendance at the event will be noted, and you will be given some extra surprises! So do take note!
     
  3. What time does the event start?
    Our event starts at 10am in our agenda. However, it is advised to be here earlier, so that there are no problems with the registration process.
     
  4. What can I expect from Youth Speak Kuching 2016? 
    This is your chance to meet people who are actively partaking in meaningful projects, so that you can learn from them and gain ideas on how make your own projects. There are also workshops whereby you can express your ideas to people who have the potential to make it happen.
     
D. DURING EVENT
  1. Where will the opening ceremony be held?
    The opening ceremony will be held in the Lecture Theater. There will be people guiding you on event day so there should not be a problem. 

     
  2. Is it a free seating event?
    Yes! There are only one type of ticket in circulation, and good seats ( the ones closer to our speakers ) are on a first come first served basis, so be early!

     
  3. Is smoking, food and drinks allowed in the event hall?
    No, smoking and eating are stictly not allowed in the hall. 
     
  4. I heard there are workshops, how does it work? 
    Youth Speak Kuching is a platform for our participants to not only learn from prominent figures in their respective fields, but to also voice out and learn from others' ideas in workshops. There are 3 hours of workshops in total throughout the entire workshop. So come prepared to think and participate!
     
  5. How many workshops am I allowed to participate in? How do I participate?
    You are only allowed to sign up for one workshop at any given time. You can sign up in the links provided in the Sign Up pages. 
     
  6. In general? What happens in the workshops?
    We have two workshops, called Workshop I and Workshop II, where Workshop I is more to an introduction of the challenge topics that you will be given to solve. You will be required to think about them during tea break. In Workshop II, you will be required to pitch to experienced leaders in their respective fields, so that they might provide feedback.
     
  7. Are meals provided during the event?
    Yes, lunch is provided, and also there will be a tea break in between Workshop I and Workshop II.
     
E. POST - EVENT
  1. What time will be event end? 
    The event will end tentatively at 6pm.
     
  2. What can I do post event?
    You are allowed to mingle around, make new friends and also talk to our coporate partners.
